What makes you different than other Martial Arts Academies?
CRMA was established in 2003 with the idea in mind that we were going to bring families closer together through Martial Arts training. My wife and I have established our academies with a certain standard that will help everyone excel. When you begin to research about starting Martial Arts it is very different from other activities that are out there. Here are some key differences between CRMA and other "McDojos:"
Master Level Instruction- A 5th degree Black Belt is considered a "Master" of their Martial Art. They know each technique and have perfected it over years and years of training. This gives each student an advantage over a Black Belt school owner who is still learning to perfect those techniques. Our other Instructors are 3rd Degree Black Belts, 2nd Degree Black Belts, and 1st Degree Black Belts. That is the rank of some Martial Arts School Owners!! What happens when you get to Black Belt? What else do they have to teach them? Ask about the Instructor's certifications. Are they currently pursuing additional training or have they stopped?
3500 Sq Ft Training Facility- Our Dojang is one of the largest in the area with 1.5 inch padded flooring by Dollamur. We also offer wireless Internet for those who might need to work while your children attend classes.
13 years in business- We are not a franchise, we are locally owned and operated. We have seen Martial Arts schools come and go in Castle Rock in the past 13 years. Trust a business that has been established and been voted #1 for 9 years.
Expanded Class Schedule- Other schools might limit you to 1 or 2 classes per week. Not us. We want you to attend as much as your schedule will allow. That might be 9 classes per week!!
7 Different Martial Arts- 50 years ago Bruce Lee said that the Martial Arts would begin to integrate and become seamless. Our style is truly that way. Other schools in Castle Rock have held on to the idea that one is good enough for them. I personally feel that I will equip our students with the most knowledge on how to defend themselves against any form of attack. We cover all areas, standing defense, ground defense, weapon defense, abduction defense. You MUST integrate other martial arts to become more well rounded.
No sneaky sales tactics- We will NOT try to force you to sign a 4 year contract!! We will not enroll you at bargain basement pricing so we can raise your tuition in 6 months. We will not have you pay Association Fees. Ask questions!!! With CRMA you pay one flat monthly rate, NO BLACK BELT CLUB, DEMO TEAM , LET ME FIND WAYS TO CHARGE MORE EACH MONTH CLUBS. Martial Arts facilities should be making your kids leaders!! You shouldn't have to pay more for that!!
Tuition will never change- For as long as you are enrolled with CRMA without interruption, your tuition will never increase.
• CRMA teaches 7 different styles, How are they integrated?
• What ages do you start?
We start as young as 4 years old. Our program is broken down into different categories for different age levels.
Little Ninjas: Ages 4-6
Youn Wha Style (Traditional Martial Arts): Ages 7 and above.
• How many classes can I come to per week?
Little Ninjas are able to attend 1 or 2 classes per week depending on availability.
Our Youn Wha program offers unlimited classes with your membership. You pay one monthly rate and you can attend about 8 classes a week. Some choose only to come to one class a week and others 4 classes or more per week. We offerseveral classes because we know your schedule is hectic. Find the days that work best for you and get going!!
• Are there contracts that I have to sign?
At CRMA we give you the option. We have month to month programs and we also have yearly agreements available. If you choose to enroll for a longer period of time then we will reward you with a larger discount on your monthly tuition. Either way, you choose what enrollment best fits your family.
• What do I wear?
A gi, dobak, or uniform is the customary apparel for classes. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is allowed to wear a rash guard and board shorts in place of the full uniform. All martial arts apparel will be available to you through CRMA.
• Will my old belt transfer over to the Youn Wha Style?
Each martial art is different. We will have to evaluate each instance on an individual basis. We have to compare curriculum from your former training facility and see how it will integrate into ours. We understand that your belt is important to you. Instructors will have to evaluate knowledge based on techniques, skill level, and overall martial arts knowledge.
• Can we train in the same classes together?
Families can train in the same classes together as long as they are 7 and above. Children that are younger will be in our Little Ninjas program. There might be times when you will be separated in the class due to age appropriate material.
• Do you have family rates?
Absolutely!! We want families to train together!! The family that kicks together sticks together. Ok that might be cheesy, but it works!!
• How do I know what to practice outside of class?
Practice is the best way to perfect technique. The most important thing about training without an instructor present is to practice each technique correctly. We offer reference manuals that have detailed descriptions and pictures to ensure that you are learning correctly outside of class. Requirements for each belt level are listed on the CRMA website under “Testing Requirements.” For additional one on one training we do offer private lessons.
• How will I know if I am ready for Testing?
Testing will be held for Youn Wha Ryu every 2 months. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Testing will be held approximately every 3 months. We will go over testing material throughout the classes. The week before Testing we will hold a “Pre Testing Week.” That will be a review of your material that is required for promotion. Upon review of the student’s pretest the Instructor makes the decision whether or not the student is ready. There are many factors that go into testing: Class attendance, attitude, technique, school grades, and overall knowledge.
• Are there registration fees or association fees?
No. That was easy.
I just want the cheapest Martial Arts I can find...
You can find cheap Martial Arts classes throughout Castle Rock, but think of it this way,
You wouldn't feed your family this everyday....
So why would you do it for Martial Arts Instruction? There is a difference!!
When can we start?
There is no time like the present!! Start any time!!
