Cory Waddell

Traditional Martial Arts Expert

What got you interested in the Martial Arts?
My interest in martial arts began by watching my sons train when we lived in Tennessee. I always found it fascinating to watch them grow in their skills and found myself wanting to join. The opportunity presented itself when I was required to do a 120-day-challenge as part of a masters degree program. I chose Martial Arts and have never looked back.

How long have you been training?
I began training in July 2020 and have been with CRMA since April 2021.

Certifications:

Youn Wha Ryu Black Belt
Completed Instructor Summit 2022

What do you like to teach most?
I really enjoy teaching the fundamental punches, kicks, and self defense, especially to younger students. It is such a joy to see them, light up as they begin to put together the pieces on how to properly execute the movements, and grow confidence in their ability to be a martial artist.

What is your favorite thing about CRMA?

My favorite thing about CRMA is the focus on camaraderie and personal growth. We describe ourselves as a leadership academy, in that we emphasize our six training principles to help each student become the best individual they can be. Yet we do this with an understanding that we need other people in our lives to help us become better. The bonds that are formed as we train, sweat, and endure together make this a community you never want to leave.
